I guess the best word to discuss the Shanghai getaway is – DECADENCE! Well not that I’m really complaining. The wine and dine were just awesome, I had the best dessert in my life and the most amazing truffle degustation menu. Admittedly, the shopping was lacklustre and I was mega disappointed that all the good stuff from the H&M/ Comme des Garçons collaboration were all snapped up! I was only 2 days late!!
The brunch at Jean Georges was good but not outstanding. While the warm chocolate cake was quite awesome, the lunch in New York was altogether in a different league.
No Comme des Garçons but I still managed to nail some buys :)
Tea at Lan, beautiful decor. I love the black-and-white chicness of the sky-lit lounge but the coffee and lemon macarons were dismal.
Definitely a highlight of the trip, I am now in love with the signature pavlova at M at the Bund. The heady mix of soft marshmallowy centre and the crisp meringue coat, but it almost tastes healthy with all that fresh fruits. It was just gorgeous, in every sense of the word. *bliss*
We went local too, and I dare say nothing quite beats hearty street food on a cold windy day!
